Maria Sharapova - Australian Open 08 champion
The result 7-5, 6-3 is a little misleading as Maria won convincingly winning 5 love games on her serves and having 89% on first serves. Ivanovic had 33 unforced errors to Sharpova's 15.

Ana Ivanovic - Australian Open final
Ana lost in the final to Sharapova (next post) 7-5, 6-3. Though it is tough to pick a favorite between these two, I personally rooted for Ana to win her first Grand Slam. Well, the year has just started.
