Carla Bruni - now Mrs. Sarkozy
Apparently, Carla Bruni former supermodel turned singer got married recently to french president Nikolas Sarkozy.
Bruni was a popular model in the early 90s around the time of Cindy Crawford, Claudia Schiffer and Naomi Campbell. I didn't follow much of Bruni's modeling career but I did recognize her face when the paparazzi pictures with the president hit the web. Bruni dated Mick Jagger and Eric Clapton. Could you imagine it happening in US? Kim Kardashian on the beach with Barack Obama or Hillary hitting on Josh Jackson in a Greenpeace event?

Maria Sharapova - Australian Open 2008
Maria beat Vesnina 6-3, 6-0 and is in the 4th round up against Elena Dementieva who beat Shahar Peer 6-2, 6-0. I saw some of the Dementieva/Peer match. Shahar beat her in their last meeting, and that was surprising to see Shahar playing so slow and reluctant.
